Flaming trash in Moscow
I was walking down the Arbat street with my girl when we found a trashcan in flames. It was nice, because it was pretty cold outside and I could warm my hands. The melting plastic bottles made a bad smell though. I threw in one of my receipts so that the fire would have a more natural burning paper smell. But it didn't help much. The end.

Somebody regularly sets fire to the dumpster at the corner of our street. It must be on purpose as it is so regular- perhaps to cut down on the volume of garbage? but- MY GOSH- it smells awful. that plastic burning smell is just the pits.
ReplyDeleteI was talking to a bulgarian friend of mine and she says that recently they have been switching to plastic dumpsters in some parts of the city with bad results- because, of course, when they set fire to the trash can, the whole thing melts.
Today on my way to the post office I saw some of these dumpsters... are they perhaps going to show up on our street corner too? Oh no!
